Acoustic Work
Using loaned equipment we have been studying whale and dolphin acoustics for a number of years. This year we have our own new equipment on the boat and by making underwater recordings, we aim to look at the acoustic behaviour of cetaceans and investigate the level of noise pollution in the area. The recordings are made using a hydrophone. We have already successfully recorded sounds of harbour porpoises in Gairloch.
