Hexham, Northumberland 10th September 2009 We enjoyed two fantastic trips in August of this year, with sightings of harbour porpoises and otters near Badachro and a wealth of bird life. The spotting sheet given to us in the Centre proved invaluable later on in our holiday as we managd to identify lots of marine life such as basking sharks, porposises and dolphins. Many thanks. Sara Wilson Carlisle, Cumbria 8th September 2007 Hello, My husband David and I, with our two teenage children recently joined Ian on one of his morning cruises. I was apprehensive as l'm afraid of the sea, but Ian was reassuring and l was persuaded to join in. I'm so glad I did! The trip was amazing, we saw many porpoise(S?), we learned much about them and birds on the two hour trip. The following day we drove to the nearby lighthouse and spent time, watching cormorants and gannets dive bombing into the sea, something we have never done before, but since Ian told us about them we now know what to look for!! I never would have thought l'd be bird watching on a wet, windy rocky cliff! ME!! we had a superb holiday which thanks to Ian surpassed my expectations, and l dont feel so overwhelmed by fear near the sea. Thanks Ian, we may see you again in the spring!! Overall we had a superb time and got to see the dolphins at Chanonry Point on Friday morning which was a bonus. As with Charlie your knowledge and passion for your subject is infectious and we both know a lot more about sea birds and `cetaceans` if that is the correct spelling, than we did a week ago. Went to Wembly for the Brazil match last night, it was reasonable but the new stadium is fantastic and good luck to Forest next season, have to go as a RN Shore Patrol and an irate Admiral have just knocked on my door with an arrest warrant! Saw lots of porpoises, which I've never done before, a few seals which were eating fish while birds tried stealing it from them. Lots of rare birds and was given lots of information about everything from the skipper. Will definitely be back for another trip sometime.
