About Us
Owned and operated by a qualified Marine Biologist, we were established in 1989 making Gairloch Marine Life Centre & Cruises is one of the longest running marine wildlife operators in Europe and has the longest running Harbour Porpoise survey world-wide.
Located in Gairloch Harbour, on the magnificent West coast of the Highlands of Scotland, we offer scenic and wildlife survey cruises around Gairloch and into the Minch with the emphasis on research and education.
We conduct our own research on the local Harbour Porpoise community and this year we will be starting a very exciting collaborative cross-globe comparative research project with the Porpoise Conservation Society.
We also work with various other organisations and scientists providing cetacean sightings data, including Sea Watch Foundation and Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust and Whale and Dolphin Conservation. Our monitoring and data collection is funded only by wildlife cruises offered between Easter and November each year.
Our Wildlife Information Centre offers comprehensive interpretive displays on the Marine life in the area. And with no entry fee, EVERYBODY is welcome whether they are joining one of our cruises or not.
